Mythic funghi project
For more than a year now - since my studies at the Synthesis Institute - the topic of the wisdom lineages and their loss in our geographical area (Central/Eastern Europe) has been very present for me. Whom can I learn from about the local rituals, mushroom ceremonies, stories to tell, spirits to give offerings to? Who can tell me what was here before totalitarian regimes, wars, and even Christian church? How did people heal? How did they connect to higher realms? What did their communal rites and rituals look like?
So I came up with a project called The Mythic Fungi of Eastern Europe: Reimagining the forgotten ceremonies in Slavic traditions
Through research, storytelling, and ritual design, I aim to create a ceremonial framework rooted in Slavic mythology and animistic spirituality. By weaving in folklore—featuring figures like Baba Yaga and the goddess Mokosh—I hope to offer a meaningful way for people to reconnect with local ancestral wisdom, nature, and personal transformation.
This project blends historical research with modern psychedelic understanding, culminating in a pilot ceremony and a guidebook that others can use to explore these traditions. My goal is to foster a respectful, culturally grounded approach to entheogenic practices, strengthening our connection to the land and our heritage.
This project goes hand in hand with taking part in The Mythic Body course, which started in November. We learn about animism, devotion, and storytelling. It is a fascinating and touching work and I am happy I can connect it to my search for ancient local wisdom(s).
